Assisting a Bleeding Cow

According to the pictures the animal has two identified conditions: worm infection according to the mucus in the stool, and continuous bleeding.

 

Summary:

The bleeding could be a physical damage caused during delivering, possibly the uterus was damaged after a difficult birth.

Practical Instruction:

1. Contact your local veterinarian or extension worker.
2. For the case of worms Deworm with Albendazole 10%. Always remember to deworm after every three months.bt but albendazal 10% is not recommended to pregnant animals.
3. Let the animal lie down in a quiet place do not disturb it.
4. If bleeding continues put a large clean cloth soaked in cold water into the vagina take the cloth out after 1-2 days .
5. Inject the animal using pen and strep for three consecutive days.

6. Feed the animals with properly mixed feeds and mineral salt from the local veterinary Shop. Do this always.

Expected short term effect:

The skin condition should normalise after three to four days

Expected mid-term effect:

The blood should have cleared after one week and mucus will take one month to clear.

Expected long-term effect:

The animal will be healthy, strong and normal
